How HomeFinder handles your data

HomeFinder shows public planning information about properties. Almost everything it handles is already public. This page sets out the little that is about you, why we hold it, and for how long.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Studio S+RK LLC, trading as l’Atelier and operating HomeFinder. Contact: hello@latelier.org.uk.

What we collect, and why

WhatWhyKept for
Addresses you look upTo build the report and to cache the public data behind it so repeat views are fast and we don’t overload the public registers. An address is not linked to you unless you request a report.Cached register results expire after 7 days and nearby decisions after 1 day; the address record itself is kept so a shared link keeps working.
Your IP addressTo limit abuse (rate limiting) and, alongside a record that you accepted the estimate terms, as evidence that acceptance happened.Removed from our records after 90 days. The fact of an acceptance is kept without it.
Your name and email, if you request a verified reportTo send you the report link and to attribute the review. For as long as the report exists. Ask us to delete it at any time.
Whether a report was helpfulTo improve the service. Anonymous.Indefinitely, without any identifier.

We do not sell or share your data for marketing. We do not profile you, and no decision with legal or similar effect is made about you automatically — the reports describe properties, not people.

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary, so no consent banner: a session cookie if you sign in, and — when the estimate feature is available — a cookie recording that you accepted its terms, which lasts 90 days. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. If we enable analytics it will be cookie-free and will not identify you.

Where the data comes from

The planning information is drawn from public sources under open licences: planning.data.gov.uk, the Planning London Datahub, HM Land Registry Price Paid Data, the Environment Agency, and OpenStreetMap. Each item in a report names its source and the date it was fetched.

Your rights
